I'm forced to go...

I lost my best friend today. It has been with me through thick and thin. When I don't know what to do, or I'm tired, or anxious, or depressed, I reach for my best friend.

My best friend is sugar. Usually in the form of chocolate. My doctor ordered me to stop eating sugar completely. It was like a kick in the gut (pardon the pun). And to add insult to injury she also said I can't eat white bread or pasta. Those were my other good friends.

As she put it, it's not a matter of looking pretty anymore, it's a matter of survival. So I am going to take heed.

My Rheumatologist explained that sugar can cause your body to overreact to pain. So even though my Rheumatoid factor was high in my blood work the sugar in my system is probably making me feel more pain than I should, based on the numbers.

So this is an experiment for 2 months to see if I feel better. I also got a steroid shot and she changed my anti-inflammatory medication to Lodine. My body has probably gotten used to the Relafin I've been taking for years.

So that's where I am. If you can sympathize with losing sugar from your life, I could use your encouragement! :)

No worries! I sent my package out monday and I didn't have a good excuse. I am sorry you haven't been feeling well.

Arthritis in the knees runs in my family. My grandpa has double knee replacement, my mom needs one. She has had a few surgeries prolonging it.

I just started geting soreness and swelling in my knees and I am only 28. My doctor told me to cut out salt, carbonation, and to start drinking 90oz of water per day, followed by a water pill to flush out all the toxins in my body. Cutting out sugar is new to me. I think I might have try it and see.

At this point I am willing to try anything to be pain free.

Hi Rhonda,

I'm sorry to hear that. I am a sugar junkie too and that would be a giant adjustment. I really hope it helps you, keep me posted and take care. ~Teri~

Say it ain't so!! I can understand the why, but still...that's rough. I hope you see the positive effects of the sugar sacrifice VERY soon! :)

Webkinz Visit Sleepyhead

Chloe and I made this slide show one day when Spike was fast asleep. He didn't move a muscle as she placed her Webkinz, one after another, on top of him. Sorry it's a bit slow, it's the fastest I could get it to go. Enjoy!
