Exploring Utah

Today I decided to explore more of Utah. We've been passing the ski lift off of Interstate 40 for months and I've been wanting to take the ride. Chloe and I went today to check it out. We got to ride for free since it was the end of the day. She was scared, but bravely told her brothers how fun it was. I loved the scenery and the eerie quiet as the car slowly ascended and descended.

Who looks scared? (She wasn't really ::that:: scared.)

One of the slopes.

This was the top.

A villa from the top.

Skiiers heading back up. See their skis sticking out from the side?

I also wanted to be sure to get some pictures of the lake as it was thawing. So beautiful to see it half frozen and half water. We took the turn in to Jordanelle State Park and made our way down to the beach. I've never walked through the snow to get to the beach and see the water frozen on the shore. Quite a site.

Near the beach. You can see the water in the distance is no longer frozen.

I love this picture of Chloe. There was driftwood all over the beach.

There were large cracks in the ice shelf on the shore. You could see that it was breaking away as melted. The sand was full of pebbles, and sort of muddy from all of the runoff.

it's so weird to read "beach" and see snow! I can't wait to see you guys (well at least half of you guys) in a couple of weeks!

Webkinz Visit Sleepyhead

Chloe and I made this slide show one day when Spike was fast asleep. He didn't move a muscle as she placed her Webkinz, one after another, on top of him. Sorry it's a bit slow, it's the fastest I could get it to go. Enjoy!
