Ruth 1924
This is one of my favorite photos. I picked it up years and years ago at an antique store. I don't know the person. Her name is Ruth A. Grewell and it was taken in Dec. 1924. Wouldn't you just love to pinch her cheeks? I just think it is adorable, and I love her little outfit.
I've been collecting old photos since I lived in Tennessee in 1985. I don't have a huge collection, but I love each one of them. I didn't even know at the time that anything could be done with them. Now I know I can use them in altered art pieces and collage, or even make a scrapbook page with them. I've even heard of people making up stories about someone they don't know in a photo.
It also gives me hope that someday my photos and scrapbooks will end up in the hands of someone like me who loves them for what they are and tries to imagine the life behind the image. And doesn't want to let go of them.
Do you have old photos that you love?

Love this photo! I can totally see you creating something amazing with your old photos. I'd love to do something with our old family shots so that there is something "together" to pass down--instead of just a shoe box! :)
